Sundays are one of those days when the family demands a lavish and scrumptious breakfast spread with fluffy omelettes, poori-bhaji and warm fresh croissants. But not many restaurants serve an early morning breakfast rather they are more into brunch. ‘Spice It’ of Ibis Pune Hotel, Viman Nagar, is a beautiful property right at the heart of food district. Viman Nagar is hub for foodies and is a popular busy place especially on weekends. Spice It enjoys all the attention and buzzing of the area which pours in into the hotel. The restaurant is lovely and vibrant looking with splashes of cheerful yellow colour covering the walls. A funky illustration depicting a chef creating culinary magic with his spoon highlights the buffet area. To lend the room airiness large picture windows solves the problem by flooding the restaurant in soft natural sunlight. Spice It is classy and contemporary looking restaurant and not too heavy on your pockets too.
Though the menu of Spice It is multicuisine, it’s not very long. With limited variety the chef has put his whole attention in the perfect execution of the dishes so that when the food comes to your table, it is not only visually appealing it’s also lip-smacking delicious. Menu offers the diners a decent variety of dishes ranging from Indian, Continental, European, Asian and Italian cuisine. You can dig into the gastronomy fare of Spice It by starting with tangy chilli chicken, Moroccan carrot salad, paneer angara tikka, chatpata murgh tikka, sweet & sour corn salad, Bhatti ka murgh, spicy thai ginger soup, ajwaini fish tikka, sweet & sour coconut soup, insalata di pollo, potato galore, butter fried crispy vegetables, murgh dhaniya shorba, masala potato wedges and tomato soup. The appetizers are tasty enough to satisfy your appetite.
After the delicious appetizers you can move onto the main course. If you want something quick and filling opt for a sandwich or pasta which is immensely yummy and comforting. The conventional mains features some great hits like, chicken in red pepper sauce, mutton kolhapuri, Bengali fish curry, fried stuffed chicken breast in mushroom sauce, ratatouille, subz khada masala, prawns in hot garlic sauce, dal panchmel, dal khichadi, fried fish n chips, baked cauliflower & broccoli, herb infused roast chicken and paneer makhanwala. Finish with a glass of refreshing lassi or cool malai kulfi peppered with pistachio and almonds. Spice It is a wonderful and ideal family fine dining restaurant.
- If you happen to be here between meals, try one of their sandwiches, which – as they are made with ciabatta bread, served with chips, and paired with some crispy rösti rounds – make for a hearty snack
- Besides their regular breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets, which are quite popular on their own, they also organise special theme buffets (such as a Maharashtrian one featuring local delicacies) on select days of the week
- One side of the restaurant opens out into a leafy courtyard with wooden benches and tea trunks acting as makeshift stools, and there is another intimate bar section inside
