Promise yourself a peaceful meal with family once in a fortnight away from the loud trappings of Pune city. Take your family or friends away from the city and give them a chance to recharge their batteries. And what better place to do exactly that than at The Corinthians which very conveniently lies just outside the city parameters. The Corinthians is home to a wonderful multi cuisine restaurant ‘Salsa’ serving sensational food to its patrons. Its lovely interiors certainly helps the matters. They have taken a regular family dining establishment and given it an extra edge. A bright cheerfully lit room welcomes you as you first enter the premises. Look is somewhere between timeless and contemporary. The furnishings are tasteful and elegant to say the least. Interesting art work graces the wall and what could have been a monotone room is uplifted by a sharp use of colour red. Salsa is interesting, edgy, modern and elegant just perfect for a lavish weekend dinner.
As we mentioned before Salsa is a multi-cuisine restaurant which indicates that the menu is wide and encompassing. That much is true. Menu of Salsa is combination of Indian, continental and European fare. Foodies can hail in joy upon the availability of sassy Latino fare. Salsa offers plenty of options to woo your palette but to do things right begin with the delicious range of appetizers. Dabble in some crispy tacos served with refried beans, fresh tomato salsa and loaded with cheese or have a ensalada de fungi which is a pickled mushroom salad. Diversify the start by indulging in bruschetta, dahi ke angare, stuffed mushroom, broccoli & roasted almond soup, lasooni jhinga, Mexican fish finger, frito misto de mer or toastadas. Salsa gives you a mouth-watering start on the menu but we were you, we would save some space for their spectacular main course.
The main section of Salsa is a promising bunch. It promises delights of flavours and forays into the territory of gastronomy in full throttle. The Italian part of the menu tempts you with risotto verdure, penne alfredo, spaghetti carbonara, thin crust pizza and lasagne siciliano. Get serious with the Mexican fare and go crazy with camarones maya, pollo en mole verdure, pescado veracruzana, enchiladas and chilli con carne. Indian section as expected is brimming with the classics. Be adventurous and finish with churros or crepas de cajeta. Dining at Salsa is a bit on the pricey side but very satisfying.
- The bar menu packs a couple of tiny, unusual surprises, such as a pineapple-cinnamon martini, or a smokey martini with a splash of bourbon in the usual gin and vermouth concoction
- In desserts, besides the more predictable trappings, you will also find Latino-inspired items such as churros, liquor-soaked bananas and toffee crêpes
- Fresh craft beer from The 1st Brewhouse (Doolally On Tap!) is served here from the establishment right next door, so enjoy a brilliant plethora of brews that pack in flavours like you have never had before
