Start your affluent food walk with the city’s loveliest fine dining restaurant, ‘Yuuka’. Perched at the glamourous The St. Regis Hotel in Lower Parel, Mumbai, this beautiful restaurant redefines the luxurious dining experience in the city. Yuuka was originally conceptualized between U.S based Japanese Chef Ting Yen and the St. Regis Hotel as a way to change the face of Japanese food in Mumbai. They threw in stunning décor in good measure to round things up. Celebrity sighting is a common sight here dining against one of the most loveliest backdrops in the city.
Chef Ting Yen certainly knows his craft and has composed a delectable menu to showcase his talent. The menu is entirely authentic Japanese here with a modern facelift given to it. This is where you get the best sushi and sashimi in the city and that too in abundance. In first course tuck into, veg truffle maki, Japanese hot chicken wings, miso shiru, Tokyo style soft shell crab maki, spicy edamame, tuna pizza, crispy lotus stem, Hamachi carpaccio, Chilean seabass soup, popcorn shrimps, veggie taco, toro tartare, vegetables tempura, grilled black cod with sweet miso, karaage, homemade angel hair noodle soup, Japanese yam tempura maki, crab cake and okonomiyaki. In entrée pick anything between, truffled lobster bake, Dutch pork belly with red miso, grilled Portobello in black truffle sauce, Japanese curry chicken, lobster saffron risotto, spicy silken tofu and organic grilled chicken breast.
In sweet course look no further than their signature dessert the 40 layered green tea cake, which is an explosion of decadent flavours in your mouth. Besides the awesome food one thing that makes Yuuka stand apart from the rest is its breath-taking ambience. From the 37th floor one gets a bird’s eye view of the city that simply takes your breath away. A wide strip of blue sea in not so far distance completes the scenic picture. Inside Yuuka is everything you imagine it to be. Polished chevron patterned wooden flooring acts as the perfect foil against their deep grey moulded walls. The look is sophisticated, stylish, affluent and exquisite. Yuuka is one of the most expensive restaurants in the city, remember that.
