The best part about dining at The Oberoi at Nariman Point, Mumbai is not only their fabulous menu on offer but also their amazing ambience which gets a lot of help from the stunning view. You have to admit, the right ambience can elevate a simple fine dining ritual to another level. It creates a memory that stays with you for a long time. Out of all the fine dining spaces The Oberoi has in its house, ‘The Eau Bar’ gets most of our attention and loyalty. The bar is simply gorgeous. Imagine a well-designed space with subtle class and a tranquil yet enriching ambience. It is one of the most popular bars with the elite crowd, especially the affluent suits dropping by for a leisurely drink with colleagues.
If you are serious about drinking and know your labels and years well then The Eau Bar will be perfect for you. The clientele here has a well-travelled palate so to pacify them the bar stocks on a wonderfully diverse booze selection. Do try their signature cocktails. Oberoi gimlet and the negroni are one of the bestsellers. A full-fledged bar menu deserves to be paired with an equally fab food menu. The Eau Bar concocts a great menu brimming with an eclectic selection of finger foods. Tuck into them starting with, crispy corn tortillas, pan fried dumplings with various fillings, samosas, marinated cucumber, spring rolls with coriander chilli dip, spicy potatoes, Florentine bruschetta, fish fingers with jalapeno tartare sauce, reshmi kebab, spicy bruschettas, salt & pepper prawns, lamb seekh kebabs and sweet & spicy prawns. The variety may be a little short but whatever they offer is delicious.
The Eau Bar creates a pleasing cultured ambience by putting melodious live music every night to weave a jazz-like mood into the atmosphere. The interiors are elegant and non-assuming, still you will find the overhead modern chandelier striking. The bar resembles somebody’s opulent drawing room, complete with plush sofas and easy chairs all upholstered in beige. Vases of fresh lilies and table lamps breaks up the space nicely. A gleaming polished piano on one side gives a nice background to the live entertainment. The Eau Bar may be expensive but it’s relaxed, elegant and classy in bargain.
