THE BEST OF SIAM. FRESHLY ELEVATED. We set the standard for outstanding Thai cuisine in the country! Take a journey to Thailand, without leaving Mumbai. Introduced after intensive cuisine and culture study, in the ’90s and now lead by Executive Chef Uddipan Chakravarthy, this restaurant is the hotspot for Thai food in Mumbai, with an ever-changing menu of contrasting sweet, sour and spice. After a dramatic makeover in 2007 by master Japanese designer Noriyoshi Muramatsu, Thai Pavilion opened its doors once again. A move away from the conventional Thai décor, this is a contemporary version rooted in a sense of nostalgia. Witness an interactive kitchen, semi-private dining, traditional family ”style round table seating with a lazy Susan” and scrap wood collages intricately carved with Thai motifs. The staff also recommends excellent pairing of food with a fine collection of young and vintage wines.
- By five-star standards, the Thai Pavilion is very reasonable. Which means that you may find a happy family of six sitting next to Anil Ambani or Ratan Tata. Both will get the same level of service
- There is a discreet section behind the wine cellar but to get a real sense of the restaurant, take a table in the main section
- Though Solomon frowns on this, many of his Gujarati guests persuade waiters to go and get papads from the Konkan Cafe next door to eat with their green curry and jasmine rice
