Gastronomy wise, which is the most complete place you know? A place where anything is possible. No matter what your needs are, you can have it all and more. Mumbai may be filled with several eateries each claiming to be different than the other, but when it comes to a chilled out evening with friends we have only place to call home. Nestled in Mumbai suburbs is an exciting little place called ‘Rustico’, where a diner can have a fabulous day bingeing on breakfast to dinner and everything in between. Rustico is a major hangout for patrons of all ages but hefty chunk of clientele is youthful college kids. The restaurant is placed on the ground floor, opposite old custom house in Fort. Drop by if you’re looking for laid back casual dining with friends.
Rustic keeps an eclectic menu that forays into North Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisines, starting their day by giving their punters a lip-smacking breakfast selection. Be warned the menu is entirely vegetarian so meat cravers can try someplace else. They keep things interesting by offering Wi-Fi and live sports screening to their diners. Their menu is crowd pleasing and features plenty of comforting options beginning with, som tam salad, bharwan dhingri, cheese poppers, crackling corn, honey chilli potato, pav bhaji fondue, dahi bhalla, funghi Bianca, paneer tikka, kung pao tofu, Thai fondue, hummus with pita, veg galouti and corn cheese samosa. Fill yourself up further on a selection of, burger, sandwiches, curries, pasta, naanza, noodles and indo-chinese gravies. Be adventurous with some Malaysian fare they deal into. Opt for a nice drink to go with it all.
Finally wrap things up on a sweet note with few desserts such as, cigar chocolate, hazel nut pot, choco pramo centro, prick shake, chocolate wonton with condensed milk foam, caramel custard with smoking cold popcorn and choco walnut brownie with vanilla ice cream. The desserts are surprisingly innovation and refreshing. Encased in a Mediterranean villa like façade with pretty blue shutters and wrought iron balconies, Rustico is the perfect nook for youngsters. Interiors are of unvarnished exposed brick walls highlighted by the use of eccentric pieces to liven up the space. A divider of ropes, a cycle mounted on one wall, wall art and strands of leaves, makes up for the décor. The look is casual, relaxed and youthful. Rustico is not too expensive, which is a bonus.
