- Lucky was opened by the grandfather of the current owner, Mohsin. He had come to Mumbai from Iran
- You can specify the amount of masala that you want in your biryani and can ask for extra potatoes too. Those from Kolkata or Lucknow and Delhi would do well to ask for 'less masala'
- Unlike a lot of Muslim-owned traditional eateries in Mumbai, Lucky is not shut during the day in the fasting month of Ramzan. Mohsin explains that that this is because his clientele is largely cosmopolitan
