About HopScotch, Linking Road, Bandra West, Western Suburbs
Your palate is always in need for some fresh perspective, which can only be provided by a trip to some fancy new restaurant everybody is raving about. To give your taste buds an infusion of originality and excellence take yourself to Linking Road in Bandra West where Mumbai’s favourite casual eatery is located. Known as ‘HopScotch’, this informal down-to-earth restaurant pulls in the crowd all week long but their weekends are more busy than usual. HopScotch is a fairly new kid on the block that has managed to rise in popularity soon after it opened. What usually is a relaxing nook for a group of friends or for people fiddling with books and laptops turns into a lounge-y space as the evening falls. A café during the day and a bar in the evening, HopScotch is best of both worlds.
Before tackling their delicious eclectic menu we encourage you to browse through their bar menu thoroughly. It’s a heady selection of house cocktails and various other liquors, which will give your evening a shiny happy buzz. If you don’t feel like your usual single malts and beers, give their bartender a chance to impress you with his skills. Flower girl (white rum, masala tea and peach), minty affair (cardamom, mint, whisky and egg white), spiritual smoke (white rum, pure orange and house made bubblegum syrup) and summer is here (gin, Campari, passion fruit and grape juice) are worth trying. Combine it with, Asian samurai nachos, Korean chicken, smoked meat balls, sambal fish, fried calamari, Malaysian cottage cheese and baked prawns. Follow that with, BBQ pork belly, NY style gyro chicken taco, pesto-wich, fusilli mama rosso and crispy skin salmon spanakorizo.
Jains get their own menu and so does the kids. Those who are short on time can always go for one bowl meals. Try Mexican bowl or Thai curry bowl, for a hearty fare. Sugar buffs fill find intense pleasure in HopScotch’s final dessert course. Indulge in, Ferrero rocher cake, flourless chocolate flan, baked New York cheese cake, tres leches, Nutella churro lollipops and Hopscotch special Nutella & butterscotch ice-cream buns. Interiors of HopScotch are an eye-catching blend of chic and earthiness. The combine use of exposed brick walls with cloudy blue walls posts a very attractive image. Rich jewel toned chairs with wooden tables and a Rubik’s Cube like lamps on them elevates the creative element.
