About Gustoso, Khar, Western Suburbs
The story of Italian food started for us when we first had our very first slice of pizza smothered in cheese and toppings. From then onwards our love for this fantastic cuisine grew when pastas and gelatos came into the picture. Mumbai adores Italian food and that fact shows in a variety of restaurants glorifying this wondrous cuisine. Amongst the city’s skyline is some fabulous Italian restaurants that have taken this rustic cuisine and given it a new height of popularity. For Mumbai’s gourmets ‘Gustoso’ is a place meant for friends and great food. This chain of casual restaurants is dotted all over Mumbai, including in Khar West and is the lively social hub for the youths. Kids are more than welcome here inspite of the booze-flowing atmosphere.
For foodies Gustoso is a place renowned for homely Italian food. Here you have a chance to savour delicious five star quality Italian food in comparatively reasonable prices. This is a popular dining spot when all you want is a slice of pizza with a bottle of wine in the company of your friends or your laptop. You will not be disappointed after dining here, even if a little lighter on pockets. Gustoso doesn’t come cheap but it has immense potential in terms of food. Wood fired oven pizzas are their forte although everything they serve on their menu is delicious. First course or as the Italians call it ‘antipasti’ features, arancini, crostini burrata, bruschetta, mozzarella caprese, tortelloni in brodo, pane pizza, involtini di pollo, bufala e prosciutto and parmigiana di melanzane. Dip into their amazing variety of pastas, pizzas and risottos, but we suggest, stick with the pizzas.
Final and sweet course brings us to Gustoso’s desserts, something for which Italians are famous for. Coddle your sweet tooth with some Italian classics like, tiramisu, panna cotta, torta caprese, mousse al cioccolato, pizza alla Nutella and zeppole. Sip on dessert cocktails otherwise. The interiors of Gustoso are charming to say the best. Patterned flooring spans across the room working beautifully against the pale walls. Small casual tables are put all over the room so there is plenty of place to sit. Black & white photographs of Italian landscapes and famous Italian actresses cover the walls. If there is a cool sea breeze flowing, sit outdoors onto Gustoso’s balcony.
