Sibling to the Pune’s famous microbrewery by the same name gets a makeover here on the shores of glittery Mumbai. From logo to look ‘Doolally Taproom’ has reinvented itself for the Mumbaiya clientele and has gone down with the patrons extremely well. Located firmly at Reclamation, Bandra west, Western Suburbs, Mumbai, this microbrewery has hit all the right spots concerning the amplified taste buds of the patrons here. Unlike Pune the decorations here at Mumbai branch is more cheerful and fun. Bright green walls greet you upon arrival which makes a sharp contrast to the rather simple interiors of the room. Rows of books, board games and free Wi-Fi are provided to encourage the punters to spend more time enjoying the facilities of the pub. The entire menu is stuck on the walls so you can tick off the items you don’t like and at the month’s end they will kick the items off the menu.
The main love of Doolally Taproom remains delicious frothy beer. Doolally Taproom keeps a superb collection of about seven different beers on tap at all times. Definitely try out oatmeal stout, smoked rye, porter, lager, pale ale, cider, Belgian wheat and hefeweizen for they are noteworthy delicious. Even non-beer lovers like me have become diehard fans after being to Doolally.Just make sure to take along loads of friends for a happy hazy filled afternoon. The restaurant is pretty full at all times so be prepared to wait for your turn but once the wait gets over you will be very glad that you came. The hustle bustle of the place will do wonders to lift up your spirits. Music in not very loud which is a blessing. The service is friendly and quick. You will attended upon immediately with lot of warmth.
To accompany the beer the house offers a short but interesting menu. You can spend your morning here eating radhaballabhi with aludom, cheese polenta and huevos rancheros. Starters like afghanimantu, chicken skewer and paanchphoran lamb chops will entice you endlessly. For fulfilling mains, Pizzettes, blondue, craft burgers, bunny chow, chicken ghee roast and vegetable ishtew can be ordered. Hand cut fries with six different dips are most ordered dish on the menu. In desserts finish off with lip smacking apple pie. Doolally Taproom is only mildly pricey but will leave you with an experience worth much more.
