As more and more fancy upbeat eateries are launching on it’s food scene, the prices are also driving up, which leaves us foodies a somewhat lacking number of pocket-friendly restaurants. However, we have discovered a great place one can go to have a lavish meal without bothering about money. Called ‘Daffodils 23’ by the locals, this restaurant has garnered a huge interest of surrounding families. It is one of the few completely vegetarian restaurants in Mumbai and is located at Club Link Building, Near Toyota Showroom, Link Road, Malad West. Free parking and a generous buffet spread puts Daffodils 23 as serious contenders in the city. The restaurant is quite accessible for wheelchair-bound. It’s a good spot to take your family to for dinner.
If you think being a pocket-friendly restaurant, Daffodils 23 will have a limited menu then you couldn’t be more wrong. Their menu is vast and encompassing. While there is expected North Indian section on the menu, it quickly enfolds the global side with Chinese, Asian, Thai, Mexican, Continental and Italian, which fills any foodie with glee. The menu holds some vegan options as well that is a huge plus. Jain community often comes here. Daffodils 23 is not one of those vegetarian restaurants without a bar menu. Here, you can indulge in booze to your heart’s content. Tuck into a variety of starters before moving on to the main course, which features hits like, veg kheema lakhnawi, takey tacos, cannelloni, paneer tikka pizza, enchilada, Schezwan Hakka noodles, veg Thai curry with rice, BBQ sizzler and malai kofta.
Devour a range of desserts to round off this meal. A darshan, sizzling brownie with ice cream, kulfi falooda and malai kulfi would do famously. Kids can enjoy a scoop of their favorite flavoured ice cream. Perky live music keeps the patrons happy while dining at Daffodils 23. Interiors are modern and earthy-toned. Clever use of multi-colored umbrellas hanging upside down at the hallway instantly hooks your interest. Inside, the décor is classically and contemporarily designed but not quite luxurious. Considering Daffodils 23 being a reasonably priced restaurant, it is a value for money place. It may not hit you with bells and whistles but it will leave you satisfied and wallet-happy. Book prior you go. It’s quite busy all week long.
