The name China Bistro is misleading because the restaurant doesn’t only serve great Chinese food but also dabbles in other Asian cuisines as well. Besides wholesome Chinese food, you can sample here delicacies from Thai, Vietnamese and Indonesian cuisines too. Enjoy a nice tangy Kaffir Lime caipiroska before picking up your fork and start digging into the appetizers. How about, barbequed bao, Vietnamese spring rolls, prawn har gao, crispy lotus stem with black pepper & curry leaves, fire roasted mandarin chicken, Hunan shrimps, steamed crab claws, grilled tofu with sambal salsa and pan fried chilli fish. The range of seafood on offer is drool-worthy. One can’t wait to dig in further in main course. Pair screwed up noodles in Pixian bean sauce with, tamari glazed fish fillet, lamb in massaman curry, lotus stem & asparagus stir fried in red curry and Singapore chilli crab.
Menu is fantastic and features delectable lip-smacking dishes. Those on a time crunch can always go for the one-pot meals. Next comes their dessert course featuring, darsaan, Thai guava ice cream, hot chocolate rolls with ice cream, coconut caramel custard, brownie with ice cream, steamed coconut dumpling with honey butter sauce, chocolate tsunami and caramel sponge cake with toffee sauce. Ask your server to seat you in their outdoor section. China Bistro is a bit pricier place but its food and décor more than makes up for it. Interiors are smart and formal. Design look is classic and earthy, with several statues of warriors and Buddha adding the Asian effect.
