Identified more as a gastropub than a restaurant, The Fatty Bao takes you on a culinary trot across Asia. Their menu is vast enough to house numerous great choices for you to eat through, backed by a fantastic bar selection, although we recommend you skip alcohol for the day in favor of an Asian tea. Whet your appetite with a series of starters such as, soft shell crab sushi, char siu bao, wild mushroom & truffle oil dim sum, tea leaf salad, grilled sambal chicken bao, shaking beef, brie tempura and dancing prawns. Continue the gastronomic fun with delicious mains. Try, miso butter ramen with tempura vegetables, Sichuan king prawn curry, curry laksa, whole bhetki steamed, Fatty pho and lotus root in Thai green curry.

The clever compilation of dishes on the menu pulls you back for more. Round off with a Japanese cheesecake, panookie, Fatty hill, cocoa caramel, apple filo pastry and bitter orange & chocolate. Flashes of innovation shown by the chef keeps the diners on tenterhooks. Between 3-7 pm, The Fatty Bao only serves small plates. Main course is available only during dinner hours. The seating area is spread in a spacious room that is decorated in a playful, quirky way with bright colours, crafted light fixtures, rattan chairs and Asian artwork. Through paper lanterns and oriental symbols, they transport you from the lanes of Kolkata into the heart of Japan. The Fatty Bao is a tad pricey.
