Asian food has always been a weakness of ours whenever we venture out for some fine dining experience and often more than most we end up going to an Asian restaurant rather than any other cuisine. Lately we have been hearing raving reviews about this particular Asian restaurant in Goa and knew we simply had to pop in. On our latest trip to Goa we were determined to find out more about this restaurant called ‘Koi Asian Dining’ and wasted no time in booking a table as we knew it to be a popular place. When looking for Koi Asian Dining, keep an eye out as it’s more of a hit and miss kind of spot. The restaurant is located on Fort Aguada Road in Calangute, a busy tourist-y route littered with eateries.
As you pick up the menu and browse through it, you will be pleasantly stunned by the immense variety on offer. The menu travels across Asia focusing on cuisines from, Thailand, Japan, China, Burma, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia. It’s not hard to guess that the food will be bursting with flavours and will be a reflection of these colorful vibrant cultures. On nights they play live music, the ambience is even more romantic and pleasurable. A bottle of Merlot will match your food beautifully but if possible sample their inspired cocktails. Open the menu through some sushi paired off with sake. Otherwise try, Vietnamese spring roll, Thai chicken fritter, crackling spinach, seafood hormok, fish in XO sauce, Thai beef salad and Koi pork ribs. Main course entails, beef rendang, Vietnamese garlic chicken, Asian flank steak, kung-pao pork, massaman curry and five spice roast duck.
A bowl of hawker style noodles or spicy Thai basil rice will complement your second course perfectly. For a bit of Goa in your food they offer Thai wok chorizo noodles, a wonderful rendition. On a special occasion ask to be served Gueridon styled crepe Mandarin, it will be spectacular way of saying sayonara to Koi Asian Dining. The sophistication reflected in the menu transfers to the décor as well. A striking looking golden bar backed by jade walls and huge busts of Buddha portrays an outstanding picture. The restaurant flows into multiple designer rooms forming small nooks and corners for you to sit and relax. To enjoy the cool Goan sea breeze, sit outside in Koi Asian Dining’s lovely outdoor area. Without costing too much, Koi Asian Dining can be a memorable dining experience.
