The Parsi community is a well-established welcoming and food-loving community that’s been an integral part of the Indian culture for over a century, their cuisine is well intertwined with influences of Iranian, British, Portuguese, Goan and Gujarati cuisine. The Parsi restaurants of Mumbai are deeply rooted in the culinary landscape of the city.

Authentic Parsi food brings to mind spiced preparations with a balance of sweet, spicy, and sour flavors and just the mention of dishes like Dhan Sak, Kolmi fry, Patra Ni Machi and Lagan Nu Custard, make you salivate on queue. Mutton Berry Pulao @ SodaBottleOpenerWala - Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Western Suburbs

This all-famous Parsi restaurant chain has been orienting pallets with a typical Bombay-style Parsi cuisine for a few years now. The charmingly stereotypically quaint interiors with the aroma of traditional bawa delights wafting through, is an invitation itself to come and chow down on their wholesome food. The Mutton Berry Pulao here is not to be missed (A veggie option is also available of the same), this picturesque, aromatic and flavorful rice is slow-cooked with juicy morsels of Mutton, quite like a Biryani, golden sliced fried Onions and tart and sweet currants folded through and garnishing the Rice, gives this preparation an unforgettable burst of flavor.

Tucked away in a cozy corner of a heritage building in Fort, this family restaurant established in 1925, boasts the concept of Lagan nu Bhonu (Parsi wedding food), making Jimmy Boy the ideal place to enjoy homely Parsi fare and warm hospitality. Amongst all the wonderful delights served here the ‘Jardaloo Salli Boti’ steals the show, a feast of Boneless, tender tangy Mutton with sweet Apricots and crispy fried Salli Potato straws, proves to be the ultimate hug from within.

Only opening for lunch this bustling rustic café is known for pioneering the introduction of many well-known Parsi/ indo Persian delicacies, one of which being Mutton Dhansak – a rich pred mixture of lentils and vegetables including nuggets of tender smoky Mutton, paired with a plate of Meatball studded rice. This dish is a lip-smacking meal in itself!

Though it is famous for its bakery items like Puddings, Cherry Custard, Lagan Nu Custard, Biscuits and Cream Puff, the signature Kheema is a highly acclaimed favorite. This also comes served with a Cheese Omelette making it a very pocket-friendly yet filling breakfast option.
