A step further on a socially revised scale!

Apart from providing their guests with some sumptuous delicacies, some restaurants in Delhi NCR have taken a long stride towards a more inclusive society. Here is a list of some restaurants that have succeeded at a humanitarian level and believe in food for a cause.

Warehouse Café, Sector 29, Gurugram

A hub for sports, drinks and food!

Filled with the zealous crowd with a mug of beer in one hand and eyes glued to the live screening of sports, this place has an alternative philanthropic aspect to the story. Every fortnight, from 12 noon onwards, they invite people from different backgrounds to treat them to scrumptious continental food like Farm Special Pizza and also provide them with a dose of entertainment like singing and dancing. Being close to the society and closer to the underprivileged are their target since the inception of this place. These social nights are organised in collaboration with NGOs like Samarth, Eklavya and Gaurav.

Di Ghent Café, Cross Point Mall, DLF Phase 4, Gurugram

A cosy wine and coffee bar!

This café with its proper seating corners that will make you lazy is a great place to be in. With their perfect coupling of wines and Cheese Boards like Destelbergen - a combination of cheddar, gouda, brie, parmesan cheeses and cold cuts like pepperoni, Parma ham, sausage along with apricots, nuts and focaccia bread gives a treat that cannot be forgotten. But the story does not end here, in fact, Di Ghent Cafe too has been donating around 400 plates of food every month to the underprivileged children in Gurugram with the help of the NGO FeedOn. The staff-volunteers serve Panini and Indian food to these children and believe in the cause that no child should sleep on an empty stomach.

Café Yell, Defence Colony, New Delhi

A cafe with a scent of coffee wafts and scrumptious delicacies!

A unit of Yell Clothing Company, this place boasts of its tailoring accessories like a sewing machine and big buttons hanging on the walls that are showcased all over the restaurant. The menu is short and crisp with offerings such as BBQ Chicken Wings and Fried Calamari - crispy squid with harissa mayonnaise. But what made this restaurant unique was that they organise Bhandaras (a feast for all) in the lane behind their restaurant, once every month. They have also tied up with an NGO Feeding India, which supplies food to the underprivileged. Normally they collect leftover food, but the cafe also supplies them with fresh food.
