Inderjeet Banga: Our supply chain strategy centres on building strong relationships with local and global suppliers. We’ve implemented a just-in-time inventory system to ensure that ingredients are fresh and quality remains consistent across all outlets. By sourcing directly from trusted partners and maintaining strict quality checks, we can offer the same high-quality experience, whether it’s in Delhi, Gurgaon, or other cities.


2. Brand Differentiation: What key principles distinguish Pirates of Grill from other buffet restaurant chains in the Delhi-NCR market?

Jasmeet Banga: What sets Pirates of Grill apart is our dedication to providing a unique dining experience that combines global flavours with an exceptional buffet format. We focus on offering something for everyone, whether it’s our signature churrasco grill, the innovative Hibachi Haven, or our exceptional vegetarian options. We aim to create an immersive experience for customers with great food, live music, and a lively ambience. This consistency in experience has helped us stand out in the competitive Delhi-NCR market.


3. Scaling Strategy: How do you balance expansion with maintaining the core dining experience that has made Pirates of Grill successful since 2009?

Inderjeet Banga: Scaling is always a challenge, especially when you’ve built a brand on quality. We ensure that every new outlet adheres to the same high standards, from food to service. We always believe in gradual expansion, focusing on understanding each market before opening new locations. This allows us to maintain that personalized dining experience that has made Pirates of Grill a success since 2009.


4. Menu Development: Can you walk us through your process of curating over 70 global dishes and creating innovative culinary concepts like Euro Grills and Hibachi Haven?

Jasmeet Banga: Curating our menu is a blend of creativity and research. We focus on global dishes that offer variety, with influences from Europe, Asia, and beyond. Dishes like Euro Grills and Hibachi Haven come from understanding the diverse tastes of our customers/ people and crafting unique concepts around them. Our culinary team constantly experiments with new flavours and presentation styles to stay innovative while ensuring authenticity.


5. Technology Integration: How does technology play a role in managing your restaurant operations and customer experience?

Inderjeet Banga: Technology plays a huge role in improving efficiency and enhancing the guest experience. From our point-of-sale system to tracking inventory, we use tech to streamline operations. We also use customer feedback software to constantly evolve our offerings based on real-time insights. Additionally, our online reservation system and integration with the EazyDiner app allow for a seamless booking and payment experience.


6. Team Building: With nearly 1,000 employees serving 5,000 daily diners, what’s your approach to training and maintaining service quality?

Inderjeet Banga: We have big growth plans. While we’re focused on expanding within India, we’re also exploring international markets. We believe the Pirates of Grill concept can resonate with diverse audiences globally. Our goal is to open more outlets in key cities across India and eventually take our brand to international destinations, bringing our unique dining experience to a larger audience.

Inderjeet, with his operational expertise, ensures that our outlets run smoothly and efficiently, focusing on the guest experience, kitchen operations, and staff management.
