This past Saturday, we had the delightful opportunity to attend the "Taste of Summer" high tea event at the Roseate House. Curated by the renowned Chef Anand Panwar, the event featured an array of summer-inspired pastries and savories, each infused with the luscious flavor of mango.
As we entered the lounge, the ambiance was inviting, with an air of elegance that perfectly complemented the culinary offerings. Soft lighting and tasteful décor created a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere, setting the stage for an afternoon of indulgence. The event promised a symphony of summer flavors, and it certainly delivered.
Among the standout creations were the ‘Mango Creamoux and Vanilla Dome’ and the ‘Mango Pistachio Pastry,’ both of which highlighted the chef’s ability to balance sweetness with subtlety. The Mango Creamoux and Vanilla Dome was a visual delight, its smooth, glossy surface hinting at the rich flavors within. As we took our first bite, the creamy mango filling melded perfectly with the delicate vanilla notes, creating a harmonious balance that danced on our taste buds. The Mango Pistachio Pastry, on the other hand, offered a delightful blend of decadent flavors with every bite. The subtle nuttiness of the pistachio infusion to the sponge pastry base provided a perfect contrast to the soft, sweet mango & cream toppings. Each bite was an explosion of texture and flavor, showcasing the chef’s unparalleled culinary craftsmanship in combining ingredients to create a truly memorable pastry.
The ‘Mango Madelines’ and ‘Linzer Torte’ offered a decadent summery spin to classic European confections. The Mango Madelines were light and airy, with a subtle hint of mango that lingered pleasantly. These bite-sized delights were perfect for pairing with a cup of the lounge’s fine selection of teas. The Linzer Torte, traditionally a nutty, spiced pastry filled with fruit preserves, was elevated with a mango-infused drizzle topping. The fruity tartness of the mango balanced beautifully with the sweetness of the pastry, making it a standout treat.
The ‘Mango Cheesecake’ and ‘Mango Badami Cake’ provided rich, creamy indulgences that were hard to resist. The Mango Cheesecake was a creamy dream, with a smooth melt-in-the-mouth texture. The mango added a refreshing twist to the classic cheesecake, cutting through the richness with its natural sweetness.
The Mango Badami Cake beautifully married the signature Indian Almond dessert richness with the summer sweet flavors infused with cut up mango chunks topping. The dense, moist cake was a comforting treat, perfect for those who appreciate a more substantial dessert.
For those who enjoy a bit of tang with their sweetness, the 'Mango Tart’ and the ‘Mango Strawberry Pastry’ were exquisite. The Mango Tart, with its crisp pastry base and creamy mango filling, was a testament to the chef’s culinary prowess in creating balanced desserts that delight the palate. The Mango Strawberry Pastry combined the tropical sweetness of mango with the tartness of fresh strawberries, creating a vibrant flavor profile that was both refreshing and satisfying.
The event also showcased some savory options like the ‘Mango Bruschetta' and ‘Chicken Mango Canapés’. The Mango Bruschetta was another standout creation, featuring a crisp, toasted base topped with a refreshing mango salsa. The combination of flavors and textures was simply divine, making these savories a perfect complement to the sweeter offerings. The Chicken Mango Canapés were a delightful surprise, combining tender chicken with a hint of mango sweetness. These bite-sized morsels were perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented, making them a highlight of the savory offerings.
The ‘Almond Raspberry Tea Cakes’ and ‘Mango Gateaux’ were the perfect end to this summer symphony. The Almond Raspberry Tea Cakes were light and moist, with a delicate almond flavor complemented by the sweet tartness of fresh raspberries. These elegant little cakes were a perfect pairing for the fine beverages. The Mango Gateaux, with its layers of sponge cake and mango cream, was a showstopper. Each layer was as beautiful as it was delicious.
Overall, the "Taste of Summer" high tea was more than just an afternoon treat; it was a celebration of culinary craftsmanship and the vibrant flavors of summer. The exquisite flavors of sweets and savories created an atmosphere of convivial conversation and shared delight, making it an unforgettable experience. Chef Anand Panwar’s masterful creations left a lasting impression, making this event a highlight of the season at The Roseate House. We left the event with our hearts and stomachs full, already looking forward to the next culinary adventure at this exquisite venue.
For those who missed this event, there is another “Taste of Summer” high tea planned for the 25th of May. Additionally, the mango-themed promotions continue throughout May and June at Roasted by Roseate, located at Roseate House, Aerocity and Vasant Kunj. These ongoing promotions provide ample opportunity to experience the chef’s delightful mango-infused creations.
