An all vegetarian menu may not be a novelty in India but for those visiting the country will find it to be a surprising entity. As most of the restaurants and bars cannot even think of introducing an all vegetarian menu to the table without some heavy additions of meat and seafood, few eateries manage to stick to their guns by reveling in the age old tradition of pure saatvik aahar. By serving clean, nutritious Vegetarian food the restaurants re-introduces healthy living lifestyle to the diners. ‘Tatva’ is one fantastic example of a luxurious hotel restaurant stepping away from conventions and serving its diners with a menu removed of any non-vegetarian dishes. Situated under Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, a completely vegetarian hotel, in Sahibabad, Tatva is a great place to host a foreign guest.
Even after being a fully vegetarian restaurant located in a vegetarian hotel, Tatva does keep a lavish bar menu. Skip the usual boozy fare you are used to and try out Tatva’s innovative house cocktails composed specially to suit their curry heavy menu. A sweet paan martini or tamarind mint margarita will pair off the appetizers beautifully. Menu leans heavily towards the North Indian side with Chinese dishes given a small section. To whet your appetite munch on starters like, paneer tikka shaslik, Chinese crunchy spring roll, malai broccoli, rajwada paneer, bharwa tandoori aloo, vegetable Manchurian dry and dahi kebab. An assortment of luscious curries awaits you at Tatva such as, soya chaap masala, paneer pudina khaas, Makai palak, kadhai paneer, nazakat ke kofte, paneer lababdar, choley masala, mili juli subzyian, khumb do pyaza and aloo gobhi adraki.
Mop up the curries with a basket of buttery flaky flatbreads or a platter of pulao. Served with burrani raita the meal comes to a wonderful finish. Bring your evening to a delightful end with Tatva’s range of soulful desserts. Gulab ki rabri, chilled fruit cream, kala jamun, rasmalai, pista badam kulfi, phirni and sinful chocolate exotica, are great way to pamper your sweet tooth. Tatva creates a comfortable simple environment to serve its patrons. The subtle elegance of the restaurant is accentuated by thick-carpeted floor, softly lit room and tablecloth clad formal dining tables. No artwork or art installation is put up to distract the diners from what matters most – food. Tatva is a tad pricey but that seems justified due to the fine ambience and even better food.
