Located at Greater Kailash 1, South Delhi is lively happening place called ‘S bar & Restaurant’. Formerly Shalom, it is in the new building but same market. The bar is well known and frequented often by young set looking for a good time. The bar is influenced by Middle East a bit which you will see in their décor. Pale and dimly lit the room is done with carved wood panels, enlightened by bright cushions. The space is huge and big enough for large groups to sit comfortably. Don’t even think of going on weekends without a prior booking. This place is so much in demand that you would not get a table. On good days ask to be seated on the outdoor area which overlooks the green patch. At night time when the place is lit by lanterns and you have your favourite drink in your hand, you will feel automatically relaxed.
Menu of S bar is Mediterranean mostly compromising of dishes from Middle East. But let’s cover our base with the bar menu first. The bar serves beers, breezers, single malts, cognac, scotch, whisky, bourbon, vodka, gin, tequila, rum, aperitifs, cocktails, champagne, wine cocktails, shots and sparkling wine. The bartenders also mixes some awesome signature cocktails like shalom spiced ice tea, levitation, watermelon capriosska, cranberry mojito and absolutely grapy. Opt for pitchers as they will be more economical. The bar stocks pretty much all kinds of alcohol so go wild. Food wise the bar serves hot baked tomato and sopa de ajos soup. Salads and cold mezzes has fattoush, Caesar’s, Turkish and cold mezze platter. Hot mezzes and tapas part shows chicken souvlaki, kibbeh, hummus with lamb, cottage cheese sticks, rubiyan mishwai and char grilled chicken wings. The kebabs have mahi kebab, kebab tabei, mushroom tabei, chelo kebab and shish taouk.
Pita pizzas are a good option too with super toppings. For mains you will find a lot of variety. Some of the delicacies are grilled fish, salmon steak, chicken saffron paprika, tangy lemon herb khoresh, wood fired vegetables with tahina, mushroom ragout, chicken tagine, paella valenciana, paella al verdure, cottage cheese rollatini and corn crepes. For desserts have date sambosik, baklava, kunaffa, molten chocolate cake, cinnamon ice cream and espresso ice cream. Non-drinkers will not be disappointed. They can enjoy delicious mocktails or juices at the bar. The S bar & Restaurant is bit on the expensive side.
