Originally it was supposed to be a dedication to Casablanca but the management ditched the idea and just kept the name ‘Rick’s’. A part of The Taj Mahal Hotel, Mansingh Road, New Delhi, the pub is one of the classiest and most exclusive pub of the city. The location allows the pub to enjoy affluent clientele who can afford to drink at such posh place. The bar looks like any other classy hotel bar with brightly lit room and clever furniture. The elegance of the décor is for granted. The bar is the focal point of the room with all the bottles on display. Multiple styles of seating are designed all over the room. Your will find casual to formal to loner seating differentiated by the couches and smart chairs. The room is small but is decorated well. Saturday nights are the busiest with the young set filling the pub to the brim asking to be served.
Rick’s is a bar where you will expect great service and immense array of booze. The pub was one of the first to introduce flavoured vodka in the city and the trend caught on soon. The bar is stocked with tremendous amount of variety keeping the diverse clientele in mind. Due to the hotel’s foreign and important visitors the bar keeps up to date with their demands and tastes. The bartenders mix wonderful signature cocktails such as, Khali’s revenge (Grey goose, fresh lime, elder flower syrup with hint of bitters), Grassy Collins (Ketel, chiili, lemon grass, fresh lime, elder flower syrup, ginger ale), Rhum punch (Guava, orange juice, captain morgan, lime, kaffir lime, green chartreuse), Burnt orange bellini (Lime, sugar, orange flower water, champagne) etc.
The old school cocktails like penicillin, martini, bee’s knees, south side, mojito, mai tai, whisky sour, bloody mary, pegu club, manhattan, old fashioned, French 75 and margarita are crowd favourites. For munchers’ Asian marinated tofu, butter chilli oyster chicken wings, panko crusted crab fingers, baked shrimp toast, nachos, veg spring rolls, grilled prawns and frites, stir fried fish with lemon pepper sauce and braised bean curd, are available. Rick’s is expensive bar with lot of potential and superb ambience.
