After being a part of Delhi social life the usual haunts begin to bore and you pray for an out of the box place. What if I tell you your prayers have been answered? Literally! Hauz khas village not only looks good but can also play host to a pretty good evening. Since the makeover numerous café/bars have popped up, each unique in their own way. One such address is ‘Out of the box’. It’s easy to locate as it has gained a fair share of popularity within a short period of time. Wood and rope is cleverly used throughout the café designing tiny nooks and corners to settle in. The staff is attentive and caters to your every need. Within minutes of seating you are handed the menu and are left to make your decision in peace. If you are lucky enough to find a table on the balcony extension enjoy the view of the lake with beers and calamari. It’s a personal favourite. The music is not too loud but foot tapping well.

Honey chilli potato and Malaysian satay goes down very nicely with the crowd. Teriyaki chicken I have heard is mouth-watering. Nachos are nothing like you have ever eaten before. Topped with kidney beans, spicy salsa and stringy cheese it’s a mini heaven. Chelo kebabs is a main ordered again and again by the regulars. Keema pav is one such favourite too. And we haven’t even touched food capital Italy. The pasta carbonara, pizza, penne peri peri is worth tasting.
