Flying dishes, talking animals, huge flowers, quirky décor. What does that remind you of? Okay I will give a hint. Wonderland. No? I am talking about Alice in wonderland. Why? Because her strange wonderland has burst into a hip new address. Olive Bistro! Its white washed interiors with kitsch burst of colours have found its way into the people’s heart. It feels like alice in wonderland theme party has taken over Greece. The restaurant is done in eccentric décor which actually makes it a lot more fun. The chandelier made out of hanging dishes is unique and huge pink pig statue in the outdoor seating area is amusing. The sittings placed in open are more often occupied than the inside of the restaurant. Big chalkboards hanging from the ceiling over the food counter displays dishes of the day.
The cuisine served at the restaurant is Mediterranean with soups and salads sprinkled with feta/goat’s cheese. Appetizers like borek, a filo wrapped feta cheese with greens parcel is offered. Balsamic mushrooms, lamb meat balls and glazed pork ribs are prepared with a skilled hand of the chef. The house offers variants of pizzas with every possible topping. Burgers and sandwiches are served too if you are more into hearty and fulfilling American fare. Full bodied pastas are hugely popular amongst the regulars. Rustic sauce tossed in the seafood with handful of pasta stays true to the Mediterranean menu. For mains king prawns & herbed gnocchi, river sole, chicken cassoulet anf baby lamb shoulder are exceptional. The fresh caught sole prepared in experienced way turns into pink flaky goodness. Olive bistro serves unique desserts too. OB signature profiteroles are filled with chocolate ice cream and drizzled with hazelnut & bitter chocolate. Sheer heaven! Their signature tiramisu is served in jars making it more fun to relish.
The bistro possesses a good wine list. The beverages ordered are of every sorts, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Shooters, shakes, tea, aperitifs, coffee all are obtainable. The servers are very friendly and well informed. Olive bistro though located in cyber hub should be expensive but is actually reasonable enough. The quirky décor and vast wine/food menu attracts young crowd and loyal customers. It’s definitely worth visiting.
