A new hip place has found a way bringing colourful Mexican culture to the city called Maquina. Located at Hauz khas village, New delhi Maquina impresses the crowd with authentic Mexican fare. The restaurant has managed to separate itself from the regular tex-mex fare with its service and delicious food. Done in tone of brown and transforming the joint with flashy lighted bar, Maquina uplifts itself. The high chair and tables with wine barrels on the corners resemble a western pub with a bartender wiping down the counter hearing your woes. The restro-bar is lively on weekends with foot-tapping music that pulls the people from street. True story! The music is beyond amazing. Hats off to the collection. Tuesdays are ladies night so no point for guessing what attraction it must be for the gal pals. In addition they pour complimentary sangrias to the ladies all night with thumping latino music in the background.
The tex-mex food served at Maquina is way too yummy and colourful. The servers are friendly plus efficient. Lets start the meal with a hearty soup. Black bean or chicken tortillas soup? Or would you prefer to start with tejas salad or guacamole salad? Tostadas, veggie poppers, jalapenos cheese poppers, empanadas, pulled pork cigars, cancun wings and chipotle chicken skewers make awesome appetizers. Nachos are served with fab toppings too. If you are in a group the go for platters and nachos for a shared munchers with your round of drinks. Burritos, chimichanga, tacos, enchiladas and quesadillas act as the perfect Mexican main course. Spicy and flavourful they are mostly corn based with loaded toppings and sauce. Maquina is known for its burgers too. One burger to be in particular. The johnny walker burger. Why? Patty of tenderloin is soaked in johnny walker and marinated with house spices with secret johnny walker sauce on top. Vegetarians stick to garlicky ranch potato burger. Grilled fish, jumbo prawns, mushroom crepe are cooked too.
Desserts are fantastic part of the menu. If you want to end a Mexican meal on the perfect note then you can’t leave without sampling churros. The fried crusty Spanish donut with the chocolaty dipping sauce is beyond sublime. The presentation is fine and service is great. The personal attention of the manager is a brownie point along with great live music. Maquina is not that expensive. Try it out and be dazzled.
