One name that has become synonymous with Indian cuisine on telly is of Chef Marut Sikka, who has popularized himself with his treasure trove of fabulous Indian recipes. He has now bought forth his expertise to the city of foodies by opening his standalone restaurant, ‘Kainoosh’. This posh fine dining restaurant is placed at DLF Promenade Mall in Vasant Kunj and enjoys the exclusivity of having its own separate entrance. One can go out on a limb and say that Kainoosh is excellent.
As it is the well-practised trend, fine dining restaurants exudes a certain amount of class and finesse. They almost always follows with an elegant setting that is bound to take your breath away with its beauty and grandeur. Chef Marut Sikka has paid a lot of attention to the décor by beautifully blending together traditional aspects with the modern aesthetics. Although the colours are kept traditionally Indian with splashes of gold, bright pink and tones of brown, the structure is quite contemporary. Kainoosh is vastly spacious, forming separate private dining rooms for those who like a little privacy with their party. The main dining room is spectacularly designed by throwing in comfy formal chairs and sofas flanked by a row of carved screens. Beaten metal lamps hangs on each table lending an intimate glow about the room.
The lovely fusion theme of the décor extends to the menu too, where traditional Indian cuisine is given a modern unique twist, under the careful guidance of Chef Marut Sikka. He explores and excels North-Indian and Mughlai food with great finesse, giving his patrons a dining experience of a lifetime. Dining at Kainoosh doesn’t come cheap but it’s totally worth it. Pick a glass of refreshing masala chaas before tackling the appetizers that includes, yam & zucchini kebab, mahi musallam, spicy benarsi potato kachoris, murgh ki chaamp, miniature roomali rolls, raan and dum ka keema. Main course section travels all over India handpicking only the best of recipes. Indulge in some desserts later as a proper send off.
