About Fresc Co, Ambience Mall, Gurgaon
Seaside heaven is how I would like to define ‘Fresc co’ at Ambience mall, Gurgaon. The moment you enter the restaurant, feeling of being in Greece hits you. Interiors are done in the way to remind you of everything Mediterranean. Walls are washed with tones of blue and white, a huge picture of Greek landscape runs on the wall. The chairs are white to add to the light airy feel. Open live kitchen stands on one side of the restaurant allowing the customers to be the part of the preparation. The theatrical exhibit of watching the cook adds to the restaurant experience. Nothing like its neighbouring outlet Fresc co has mostly Mediterranean dishes on the menu.
The restaurant starts serving at noon so if you have a hankering for lazy brunch like akoori eggs or French toast then pop right in. Throw in a fruit bowl or Muesli for good measure. Fresh salad or a bowl of hearty soup will fall right in the brunch category. Gorgeous greek salad or good old Caesar salad will do perfectly. Ai funghi pasta made with wild mushrooms, white wine, cream & parsley or shrimp diavola pizza are as good too. Pizzas devising from wood fire oven tasting divine with smoky aftertaste have found a fan following. Their crispy crust and full bodied sauce brings together everything nicely. Pastas are freshly rolled out and tossed with the best of ingredients. To begin the three course meal appetizers make a nice selection. Bruschetta, mezze platter, shish taouk, fish fingers, falafel roll remind us of Mediterranean palettes. The food is doled out by experienced hand. Now to move to the mains section, the second course is versatile and adventurous. Slow braised lamb shanks, chargrilled seabass, Spanish prawns pil pil, forest mushroom risotto, ratatouille in a pot, green pepper crusted salmon, all are unique and delicious.
Fresc co is a jewel in Gurgaon’s culinary scene. The menu keeps away from being boring and offers us a glimpse of Spain, Lebanon, Italy, Greece and France. The sweetness of dessert part entices us with crème caramel, tiramisu, banoffee cheesecake and gooey double chocolate cake. The restaurant is reasonable and very affordable. It’s a good place to try for date night. The romance of Mediterranean will help things along.
