As more and more eccentric eateries are coming into the picture, it was high time someone took classic dhaba theme in hand and give it a facelift. The job fell upon the shoulders of ‘Foreign Dhaba Bistro & Bar’, who with their creative minds have turned a regular worn-out dhaba theme into a new attraction. As more and more eateries are going for out-of-the-box décor themes, this restaurant chose to go old school. The restaurant has become quite a crowd-magnet as many families and foodies come in to check out their modern desi avatar and also to sample their delectable menu. Foreign Dhaba Bistro & Bar is tucked on the ground floor in Industrial Pocket, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi. A valet service is available for those who can’t wait to hand over their keys and get right into the action.
Just as the restaurant has tried to play with their décor, the chef has put an imaginative spin on the menu. While it may seem like an average North Indian, Continental and Chinese combination to many, look closer and you will find out that it’s innovative and playful up front. Go on expecting a bit pricey bill. It may not burn a hole in your pocket but it’s not cheap either. A decent bar menu comes attached with the food selection. Choose whatever moves you. If part of a large group, opt for sharing platters. Otherwise pick between, bruschetta golgappas, barra kebab, Vietnamese crispy chili potato, sofiyana mutton Peshawar, prik pro and do bhai. Second course is just as exciting. Try, Spanish style grilled soul, seafood pizza, soya lababdar, type chicken fusion pizza and penne mama rossa.
‘Kuch meetha hojaye’ is how they title their final sweet section. Under the section is an assortment of lip-smacking desserts, which will promise to throw your diet charts out of the window. Spoil yourself with, shahi tukda, Thai coconut spring roll topping with canoy sauce, motichoor ladoo with rabri, caramel custard, walnut brownie with ice cream and choco spring roll topping with hot chocolate. Foreign Dhaba Bistro & Bar is aptly named as it seems like a modernized version of old-fashioned dhabas. Décor very much falls into a chic European bracket with arched hallway, stone floor, baroque chandeliers and light-weight white furniture. A huge mural of a red turbaned man runs across main focal wall. An easy-going smartly furnished dining space ideal for families.
