Canton Spice Company has formed a fan base at Cyber hub, Gurgaon. You might go into the restaurant for authentic Chinese cuisine but they will convert you for a more indo-Chinese fare. The casual mood of the restaurant resembles more to a café, serving delicious Asian food. Exposed brick wall and contemporary lamps overhead with blue chairs increases the casual preface. Extended balcony is littered with furniture and dotted with lush palms. Visit this adorable joint with friends or take your family for a Cantonese break. The management has tried their utmost to make the experience enjoyable for you. Service is quick and friendly. Within minutes of seating you will be attended and given the menu. If you plan to take a large group to Canton Spice Company then think forward to reserve a table as this place is popular enough to be flooded by punters. Especially at lunch time you will not get a table unless you have made a call beforehand.
Menu is short and precise to what they offer and at what time. Lunch hour is usually a rush so they have created bowl meals which consists of rice/noodles, gravy, starter of the day and some soup. I find this idea convenient and quite hassle free. Pop right in, choose, and get served. Dim sums section shows variety like suimai, stalins beard, tofu & kimchi dumpling, chicken grilled dumpling and char siew bao. What follows the dim sums is soups. Seafood clear soup, hot & sour soup and pork meat ball soup is most ordered. Small plates or starters as they call it portrays honey pepper chicken, fried meat balls, crispy lamb, crispy duck roll, prawn butter pepper garlic, vegetable pancake rolls, fried corn curd and canton spice vegetable wonton. For your main course combine rice or noodles with aromatic gravies like chicken stew with potato, double cooked pork belly, lamb stew, kung pao prawn, fish in oyster chilli sauce, soya bite mongolian sauce, maboo tofu and stuffed potato in chosen gravy.
Menu covers some neighbouring cuisines too.In dessert go for darsans and ice cream. They are delectable. Drinkers will be glad to see their favourite wine on the bar card. Beer, spirits, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages are available too. Canton Spice Company is a great restaurant with affordable prices. Your wallet will be smiling as well as your tummy.
- The restaurant is well-suited to large groups but reserve in advance
- The starter meals, served with rice, soup and starter of the day, is a good option for a light, working lunch
- Kung pao prawn, a Sichuan dish, is one of the highlights of the menu. Order it, even though it means cheating on Cantonese food
