This is the only café/bar in Rajiv chowk, CP with art inspired by street art all over the world. The Boombox café is stylish with modern interiors with lot of graffiti wall art. The décor of the café is in tones of white and brown with burst of colours in shape of images of hip hop dancers. The upper floor opens in a rooftop sitting area that is very popular on winter mornings. The metal shutters and the hip hop dancers on the wall gives very international feel to the café. Normally you don’t get good food in watering holes but Boombox makes an exception The focus is on the preparation of the food as well as the clockwork operation of the staff. If you are a regular here the staff will remember your preferences and that little bit of attention makes all the difference.
Besides the salad and soups to start your lavish meal the café serves hot steamed dim sums with mushroom, prawn, chicken and lamb filling. If you want bread to soak up all that booze then sandwiches, hotdogs and burgers will win the day. For lighter option choose ham & cheese or spinach & ricotta crepes. Both are classic and superbly made. The appetizer menu is wide and consists all kinds of seafood and meat dishes. Phuket fish, tacos, Malaysian chicken satay, golden fried prawns, Andhra paneer tikka, mushroom kurkure, keema pav and so much more. Italian fare involves wood fired oven pizzas and freshly rolled pastas. The mains are four page long and boasts of global cuisine. Stroganoff, burritos, ratatouille, peri peri chicken, chelo kababs, grilled prawns with lemon caper sauce, nasi goreng and prawn in XO sauce are the best bet. Indian mains are served at boombox café too. To finish off the meal go for Nutella crepes. They are truly decadent.
