About The Chinese Story, Ramapuram, Chennai
Chinese takeout are often an indication of the perfect date night or even a quiet evening at home. My roommates often orders Chinese from our favourite place and relish it with a good chick flick. But recently we decided not to order and visit the Chinese place in person and we are so glad that we did because the experience was even better. Our go-to Chinese restaurant ‘The Chinese Story’ is a wonderful place ideal for families and friends. After visiting the restaurant once we made sure of dropping in often and sometimes on weekly basis. Tucked into the lane at Ramapuram, The Chinese Story has a quiet and peaceful ambience suitable for a relaxing lunch or a first date. Keeping true to the name the restaurant has mounted the walls with portraits of Chinese celebrities. Usage of faux wood enhances the rustic appeal in the décor. Room is spacious and flooded with natural light. Staff is well versed with menu so feel free to ask what they recommend.
The Chinese Story weaves a tale of delicious and lip-smacking fare that is so beloved to the entire country. Be prepared to taste a series of authentically cooked Chinese dishes by a very talented chef. Ask your server if you want your food cooked a certain way. We are sure the chef would be happy to oblige. Length of the menu is again mention-worthy. It provides enough choices to dazzle you starting with the delectable range of appetizers. Either go for a bowl of hunai soup with spicy chilli oil or nibble on the crispy toothsome starters like, spring roll, wasabi prawns, chilli crispy potatoes, spicy fried squid, fish fingers, lollypop chicken, fried wontons, mushroom pepper salt, spicy fried paneer, sesame fried prawns and crispy chicken winglets.
If you are stunned by the variety and flavours of the appetizers then wait till you taste the main course. With a helping of nanking fried rice or butter chilli garlic noodles mop up the gravies such as, prawn and crab meat sauce, chilli squid, mixed vegetables with cashew nuts, hong kong chicken, Phuket fish, dragon prawns, roast tenderloin, Singapore chilli crab, pepper salt squid, pepper & onion tenderloin or cauliflower Manchurian. Accompany the mains with a glass of sparkling sangria and follow them with a fried ice cream or daarsan. The Chinese Story is easy on pockets and wonderful for the soul.
