- Personally, I only need three words to go back: bacon washed bourbon. Fat-washed cocktails have been trending in the US since Don Lee concocted Benton’s old fashioned at PDT in New York. Somehow, it took nearly a decade to turn up in Chennai. Bacon fat washed bourbon + brown sugar gomme + more whiskey, served with a side of torched bacon. I am also partial to the Earl Grey sour; rum and ginger ale based smooth criminal and the savoury melon and cheese. Thankfully, the cocktail prices are inclusive of pesky liquor taxes
- Co-owner and prolific restaurateur Sandesh Reddy delivers manoeuvrable, uncomplicated gastropub munchies like pork belly bao, mozzarella chilli bajji and bheja fry bruschetta sliders
- It is a mid-sized pub built around a communal table-island, the showpiece bar decked with actual radios and low settees scattered around. On weekends elbowroom comes is hard to find; try to book a table away from the bar, in between the front and rear doors for some breathing space
