If you have had your fill of the old-fashioned stagnant kind of dining establishments and crave for something with a little bling then you have come to the right place. We have in our collection a superb place which is tailor made for your necessity. It has done a great job of turning the heads around in gastronomy circle in Chennai by its lush décor and a mind-blowing menu. Which place are we raving about? ‘M’Bessy Kitchen & Bar’! Part of Esthell Hotel in Besant Avenue, Adyar, the restro-bar is ideal for those who want a stylish backdrop to spend their next Saturday night. The place is worth it to courage the mind numbing weekend traffic and once you toss your keys to the valet, you can start having some great fun. Outside, the vicinity is quiet and tranquil, inside, a sharp contrast of vibrancy and lively.
Happen to take your social media feeds seriously? Then M’Bessy Kitchen & Bar will give you enough pictures to last you a couple of weeks. Instagram away their swanky stylish décor by posing with a drink beside their edgy busy bar. We bet your bartender won’t mind being clicked while whipping up your drinks. Hallway leading to the entrance is fitted with numerous framed flags which is one of the best spots of an impromptu selfie. M’Bessy is the perfect blend of elegance and bling. To sit you are lead to a spacious and comfortable dining area which is fitted with old-fashioned Victorian chairs and some cosy modern pieces too. Somehow both the looks works together beautifully. Ask your server to settle you next to the floor to ceiling window which overlooks a tranquil green pocket.
M’Bessy Kitchen & Bar will be exactly what you want it to be. Food is their strong point. What comes out of the kitchen will be works of art. Capture some beauty on your camera before picking up the fork. Menu is not excessively long but is short and sweet. Dishes are prepared well by their brilliant Chef Arun who tries hand at being innovative as well as ambitious. Begin with a hickory smoked tomato soup, prawns dynamite, English cheddar cheese balls, Texas jack Daniel chicken wings and move on with, steak de fromage, pollo parmigiana, wild mushroom risotto, herb crusted tender chicken breast and pepper steak with brandied pepper sauce. Finally, let the chef woo you with deconstructed tiramisu or a caramelized succulent banoffee tart.
- Chef Arun has done a great job of curating a menu which delivers solid meals while posing a pretty picture. My picks include the crunchy dyanmite prawns, genuinely succulent chicken skewers and the deconstructed tiramisu
- You can either sit at the bar-lounge on the first floor, which does get ear-splittingly loud in the evenings or the ornate fine-dine section downstairs
- M’Bessy runs a prix-fixe Sunday brunch which is a great option for sampling their best dishes
