- The restaurant is a bit underground, both literally and metaphorically. It is located in the basement of the Green Park Hotel; replete with bamboo and sequestered dining tables. Kuuraku remains off most foodie radars, though very popular with the city’s expat Japanese workforce
- It is meant to be an Izakaya (Japanese pub) grill with fun drinking games and novel cocktail, but the recent Supreme Court ruling has put that on hold
- I would encourage you to order a mixed Yakitori platter, and not be squeamish about unfamiliar chicken parts. It is grilled over Binchotan charcoal from Japan with great care to bring out texture and flavours you’ll be hard pressed to find elsewhere.
