About Mainland China, Indiranagar, East Bengaluru
We may have been spoilt for choices lately in terms of global gastronomy but sometimes it’s good to go old school. The comforts we find in the cuisines we have been enjoying for years can’t beat the delights of molecular gastronomy or exotic new found cuisines. Sometimes we know what works best for us and we should stick with that. Chinese food for us has always been that place of comfort so every now and then we find solace in a bowl of noodles and chilli chicken. But where to go for good Chinese food? For us the answer always has been ‘Mainland China’. Although numerous outlets of Mainland China are dotted all over Bengaluru city but the one on 100 ft. road, Indiranagar has to be our favourite. The place is almost always busy with families and office goers.
Over the years Mainland China has become synonymous with Chinese cuisine. They are known to serve authentic wholesome Chinese food for what is, pretty reasonable prices. A five star quality Chinese food for moderate prices is a great bargain, hence the popularity of the restaurant. If you would like more variety to your meal then opt for their buffet, which you will find to be economical as well as more satisfying. Their full-fledged bar menu accompanies their food menu extremely well. Begin with, dim sums, wok tossed tofu Hunan style, chilli teriyaki chicken, drums of heaven, sizzling lamb with cumin & coriander and Jiang’s chilli chicken. Try to pair seafood fried rice or pan fried noodles to go with the curries like, sesame chicken casserole, poached fish with Thai herbs, potatoes in chilli mustard sauce, braised crabmeat in pepper garlic and roast lamb in mahlak sauce.
We recommend you to save some space for their desserts section, its delectable. Feast on, rambutan with ice cream, mango pudding, steamed coconut dumplings with honey butter sauce, coconut caramel custard, honey noodles with almond flakes and hot chocolate rolls with vanilla ice cream. The décor of all the Mainland China outlets is the same. It is all done in eye-soothing classy manner. A pale spacious room uplifted by bright lights and Asian wall arts. A set of golden terracotta warriors flanking one side is quintessential Mainland China. Interiors are formal, classy, traditional and comfortable.
