You will wonder how to define this place. Will you call it a brewery or a restaurant? I think we should call ‘Big Pitcher’ both. Located at Old Airport Road, East Bengaluru, this is unlike any other brewery I have seen before with its earthy design and superb ambience. The al fresco seating gets a huge attention from the visiting punters who absolutely adore the very savvy open bar all lighted up at night. The indoor seating areas are made out of bamboos so it lends a very unique look to the brewery. Tones of beige and golden brown are used in the entire restaurant and looks pretty good. The restaurant has a gaming section so you can guess how big a hit it must be with the guys. They have tried to make the gaming section look more appealing by adding tech lights and it works. From time to time the restaurant keeps on hosting live gigs and stand-up comedy nights that pull in a lot of crowd.
You must have guessed by the name ‘Big Pitcher’ that this is the local watering hole. The menu is cocktail of course so plenty of booze and delicious munchers features on it. As Big Pitcher is a brewery it creates its own craft beers and they are sensational. Adjust maadi, Czech that pilsner, sarava, kingslayer and hop witch are some their brewed concoctions. They have a fantastic collection of cocktails, shooters, mocktail, whisky and vodka so have your pick. Now if we come to their menu there is only one word for it, Exhaustive. The menu of Big Pitcher is very extensive and detailed featuring mind blowing varieties of cuisines and appetizers. Begin with tandoori pink salmon, lamb balls, gyoza, chicken yakatori, sushi, lobster bisque, warm sesame crusted chicken salad, fish fingers, tandoori pork chops, saucy wings, potato pataka and nachos.
To fill your stomach sample their burgers, pasta, pizza, sandwiches and risottos. They also cook pickled spices paneer steak, lamb chops, sriracha glazed chicken, tandoori chicken steak, chile Colorado, paneang veg curry, caramalized pork belly, carne asada mojo, nasi goreng with gado-gado, grilled sage flavoured pork chops and chilles rellonos. End with sweet desserts like empanada, Mexican caramel custard, rasmalai chocolate terrine, rose-petal kulfi with pista samosa and lemon grass caramel custard. Big Pitcher is on the expensive side but it offers a varied menu, crafty beers and a great ambience.
