Ahoy, Matey! Wander into the dark dungeons of Central Bengaluru and head onto Church Street for a true piratey experience. At ‘Bierre Republic’ you will be able to glimpse into the adventurous world of Capt. Hector and Capt. Jack. Presiding on the rooftop of Pavilion mall is this space paying tribute to all the brave and scary pirates with colourful histories. Structured like a standalone house made out of red bricks the restaurant is pretty lovely contradicting the gory pirate theme it adapts. As you step inside you will notice a crystal chandelier dimly throwing light on the entire room. Pictures of captains manning their ships and the wheel of their beloved vessel grace the room attracting the attention of wide eyed punters. Make reservations on prior notice to save some of the most sought after seats in the outdoor area. The rocking table and chairs make the dining much more fun.

The captains adore their drinks and especially beer. Thank goodness Bierre Republic has that in abundance. Didn’t I tell you? The restaurant is also a microbrewery. The good old captains get their own beer, Capt. Hector (Stout Beer), Capt. John (Lager Beer), Capt. Jack (Pale Ale) and Capt. Billy (Wheat Beer). The cocktails are not far behind. Captain Haddock (Fresh Bell Peppers, White Rum, Lime Juice), Captain Francis Drake (Vodka muddled With Lime, Fresh Mint & Cinnamon), Commodore Thomas Truxton (Melon Vodka, Tequila, Pineapple & Cranberry Juice), Lieutanant James Barron (White Rum, Cranberry Juice, Passion Fruit Syrup, Lime Juice), Captain Edgar Gold (Dark Rum, Vermouth, Black Coffee) and Captain William Brown (Vodka, Guvava Juice, All Spiced Up). Classics like pinacolada, rude cosmopolitan, mojito, bloody mary, whisky sour, long island iced tea and caiprioska finds place on the menu too. Wines, gin, vodka, rum, wines, whisky, scotch, tequila, brandy, breezers, mocktails, shots add another dimension to the menu.

Now comes the food. Heartwarming soups kick starts the menu on the right note. You will discover lung fung, manchow, lemon coriander, hot & sour, sweet corn, murg ka shorba, tom yum soup, spicy crab pepper and calamari egg drop soup and love it. Take it a step further with seafood extender salad, roasted Persian lamb salad, grilled chicken salad and pasta salad with Asian dressing.
